We had 14 strong hikers for our hike at Sweetwater Creek State Park.  We started out by following the Yellow trail to the bridge across Sweetwater Creek and then up to the top of the ridgeline.  We did the Orange Trail loop and then took the other side of the Yellow Trail down to the creek.  We were making great time so we added the entire Blue Trail loop.  Next we visited the pits where the clay used to form the bricks used in the mill were dug.  Then we crossed back across the creek and headed downstream to the New Manchester mill ruins.  Along the way we observed the stone lined mill race and followed it to the mill itself.  Then we made our way back to the parking lot and the end of our hike.  We covered 7.5 miles and achieved approximately 900 feet of elevation gain in 3 hours.  ~ Holt
