We headed out to the western end of the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park and hiked the Kolb Farm loop.  First we hiked the same path that the Union Forces took as the assulted Cheatham Hill in June 1864.  Fortunately we were not being fired upon like they were but the uphill "charge" to the summit of Cheatham Hill in the Georgia heat and humidiy made us appreciate their challenges.  We hike the rest of the loop clockwise taking several water breaks to fend off dehydration. We finished the 5.5 mile loop in a shade under 2 hours.  ~ Holt
