With temperatures in the low 40’s as we met for introductions at Underground Atlanta across the street form the Five Points Marta Station, we proceeded north on Peachtree Street NE. A stop to look at the sculpture of “Atlanta from the Ashes” than to the Candler Hotel, passing by the Hard Rock Café, and the Shakespeare Tavern Playhouse. Next to the Fox Theater with a stop to talk about the history of this great Atlanta Landmark. From there to the Margaret Mitchell House and the Woodruff Arts Center. This time we stopped at Atlanta Symphony Hall for a rest break and a guided tour of the inside by Dr. Barbara. Next stop, Prince of Wales’s World Athletes Monument, Rhodes Hall, and we are at the halfway point. Time for lunch. Bell Street Burritos, great food and service, reasonably priced. We were able to sit outside and share out hiking experiences. On the last half of the hike we passed Elton John’s Atlanta Residence, Park Place Condos, and Triple Jesus Junction before ending the hike at the Buckhead Marta Station and temperatures in the low 60’s.

I would like to thank Sharon and Swan for joining us on their second AOC and Suzy for join us on her tenth hike. Thanks to the rest of the group for welcoming these new members.
