Dan joined the AOC in May of 2016, and has logged in 500 events in under 4 years. He's one of our best-loved members, using his creative wit, his ability to draw people together, and his light spirit to galvanize those around him in fun-loving activities. It was great to be able to honor him today for his milestone accomplishment. Linda created a banner and Shirley/Joyce brought some after-hike treats to celebrate the occasion.

We had a bit of fun with Dan, whom we felt should be first up the warm-up hill today. Dan was quick, and soon pulled away from the group. Half way up the hill, we all turned around and started back down, so that when Dan reached the top, we were far, far away. Dan took a couple of photos as he reached the top, the first of which shows a bit of a concerned look. He must have wondered why we were all going in the opposite direction. But we eventually reversed our course and made an about face. Dan took another picture and looked relieved as we headed toward him.

We passed Allen's AOC group and said appropriate hello's as we went by. It was nice to see our "other half" looking so happy to be out on this beautiful day.
