The weather on the ridge was not quite as expected as we encountered brief periods of light rain, sleet and snow. We were hiking in the clouds most of the day and the temperature on Brasstown Bald was 36 degrees as we had lunch. With rain the previous day the infamous mud slide was challenging, but we all made it up and down on foot with no body surfing. Despite the challenges this experienced group of hikers was well prepared and everyone had a great hike.
