Write Up:

Hi everyone,

Thanks to all who participated yesterday in the Chattahoochee Paddle from Buford Dam to the Bridges. I hope everyone enjoyed the wonderful weather which ranged from the cool morning temps (causing picturesque, foggy river conditions) to the warmth of the early afternoon sunshine (which I'm sure was very welcomed by those who went for an inadvertent swim in the cold water).

Thanks also to Charlie for the tasty muscadines and the suggestion to consolidate vehicles and boats prior to driving up to the starting point. That worked out very well and saved considerable time with morning logistics.

After assembling at Abbotts Bridge around 8:15am we drove to our starting point just below Buford Dam (Chattahoochee River mile marker #348) and put in around 10:15am.  The 13 mile trip to Abbott's Bridge (mile marker #335) lasted around 4.5 hours. A small group then decided to continue, reset our shuttle, and paddled on to Gerrard Landing near Holcomb Bridge (mile marker #325) for a total distance of 23 miles for the day.

If you have any pictures from the trip you'd like to share with the group please email me with a link to your online photo album and I'll be happy to share with the group.

I hope to see you all again soon on the river or otherwise.  -Brian Clements
