Write Up:
Well.... for the middle of June we had a day of cool temps and winds out of the Northwest with low humidity. This was another solid D5, it was a pretty tough hike! The Approach Trail to Frosty Mountain really surprised me with some of the climbs; it gave me a couple of false Summits! We arrived at the Inn... had lunch under the Veranda and took a walk to the back for some good views to the East. Later we connected onto the Hike Inn Trail where I stepped on a Black Snake while I was viewing my new app on my iPhone. Beautiful blooms out there - Flaming Azalea and Virginia spiderwort . Recapping this trail- Clockwise on the Approach is tough - the Inn trail gives it a good finish. Mostly a soft trail, nothing technical. You can pretty well go at a fast pace on this loop but we chose to keep it enjoyable. I hope our group brought home a little bit of the Len Foote Inn with them ... where you can disconnect and relax! Would like to welcome Karen S to the club, I think she has a lot to offer. Leah and Virginia are still collecting their D5 badges! Get out there and hike!
