Our pace was moderate today as we started at the Visitor Center, went around the pond, then DOWN the warm-up hill before hiking along the river to the lollipop trail, where we detoured down the gravel road to the homes on Robert's Rd.before returning along the river trail.  

We passed some young men (in both directions) practicing free climbing, and saw four turtles on a pond log. The unit was very crowded with both hikers and water enthusiasts. 

Much to my surprise, several participants asked to go UP the warm-up hill at the end of our trek, so that became an option that 7 of the 10 participants undertook. Congratulations to both Marie-Felice and Jennifer who tied for first place climbing up the challenging hill! ~ Joyce
