Write Up: The 4 passes over the Mountains with summer in full effect was a little challenging.
We took a slow pace with numerous stops and that gave most hikers a good finish (also
prevents a lonely finish). Next hike for this event - I will extend the time.
Kennesaw is constantly up and down with very little flats. I'm still surprised on the terrain
difficulty! For a D4 hiker going for their D5 on Kennesaw - be ready! It's hard to find a
D5 in the metro area and this one gives you an entry level elevation gain. Go out there
and try a couple of passes on your own. Try using an app on trail. ( my favorite is Strava
-
it's free ) Know your pace and learn what elevation gain is. You can eventually find
which hike is for you. Would like to welcome Yovani to the club - he had a clean finish.
