Here it was, the first day of Autumn, and Fall was definitely in the air! Iujm, t was chilly when we started, but by the time we finished the Powers Island loop, jackets came off and we enjoyed the cool breezes and bright sunshine.  

The trails were great . . . nicely dried out from the rain days ago. After hiking the Powers Ferry Loop, we crossed the bridge to Powers Island and were able to hike the trail all the way around the island. We marveled at the huge trees on the island . . . trees much bigger than anywhere else in the area!

After hiking around Powers Island, we crossed the bridge and hiked one of the long uphill trails in the Interstate North section of Cochran Shoals.
