We had a wonderful time on the first hike of our Waterfall Series!  The day started out sunny and warm, but provided cloud cover and cooler temperatures just when we needed it most.

The trek down several stairs proved interesting as we headed to the bottom of the gorge.  Along the way we saw a guy carrying his golden retriever up the steps.  We laughed at first thinking how silly the situation was.  Then we realized the steps would be impossible for a dog to navigate.  Maybe that's why there is a sign at the top stating "no pets allowed."

The suspension bridge was a perfect spot to take another group photo - a favorite part of each hike.  I think the group's favorite part of the event was hiking up the hundreds of steps out of the valley up towards the South Rim.  I think they may have been disappointed when I told them we wouldn't be going back the same way.

During our trek, we spotted several varieties of wildflowers and small signs of the leaves preparing to change color.  We found a baby snake wrapped inconspicuously around part of the railing at one of the overlooks.  A buzzard soared along the thermals far overhead as we made our way from one overlook to another.  Each new spot provided us with fantastic photo opportunities.

Tallulah Gorge provided gorgeous views of several waterfalls and breathtaking heights.  There were plenty of humorous moments and antics throughout the day.  We had a good group, a good hike, and a good day.  We're already looking forward to the next hike in the Waterfall Series!
