Write Up:
The sign says you can't do it in a day, but we did it in under 7 hours.   I'm glad Looper convinced me to buy that extra jacket otherwise I might have been in trouble.  What was supposed to be 50's and sunny turned out to be more like mid thirties, raining and windy.  It was a really pretty long hike through backcountry, we only heard one rifle shot that first day of hunting season.  That three mile ascent was pretty tough but by the time we made it to woodpen gap and had lunch I was ready for more.  When we got back to the ranger station there was a festival going on with hot cider, chili and dogs. That was a real treat.  I hope everyone had a good time, I know I got a great workout in, when you're in a cloud (like we were most of the way) everything seems quieter and more peaceful.  Hope to see you all on more trails in the future.
