Write Up:It was a celebration hike today - - Allan W.'s 400th AOC event! How happy we were to honor him today! As we gathered for introductions, Allan noted that three of the members on today's hike have been the top three members to share events with him - - Holt, Shirley and Joyce! The weather was chilly and damp as we hiked through West Palisades, but Holt's unique route through the park kept our focus on the ground and not on the weather. We went where I'm sure human feet had never before stepped! And we all made it safely back to the trailhead! We just LOVE adventure!
Four waitlisted folks formed a renegade group that started their hike a few minutes before we did. We passed them once in the park and again met them back at the parking lot . . . but there was no way they could have found us during some parts of our hike. Congratulations, Allan! 400 events on record! ~ Holt and Joyce
