It was truly a miracle. It was still gloomy and drizzling at 12:15 pm, but within minutes, the sky cleared and the sun came out! The rain was completely gone! What a wonderful gift of beautiful weather for our 1 pm hike. The temperature warmed up to 60, so the cool breeze felt delightful!
Because of the rain that just passed through, the first part of our hike was on pavement. We went out to Akers Mill by the waterwheel, down and across the street, and along Bob Callan Trail to ultimately take the river trail into the woods.
Allan guided some of the group down a long, steep hill to see the Akers Mill Ruins, something most of us had seen only from the other side of the creek. The hike back up to the paved path provided a good workout!
We all were so grateful for today's hike in perfect weather. ~ Joyce
