We did introductions at the Visitor Center Parking Lot. It was sunny and warm, no better day for a hike. Our first surprise was that The Park was hosting an Orientation Event. Starting when we did, we arrived before most of the Orientation participants. We hiked over to the Homestead Trail following it in a clockwise direction. The water level low, allowing us to hike along the shore for some distance before retuning to the trail. However not being as low has it was in January we were forced to walk within inches of the water in a couple of places and we finally returned to the trail when we encountered a large rock blocking the shoreline that was too big to climb over, see pictures of both of these. After completing the loop, we hiked the White Tail Trail with another detour to the shoreline and returned to the Visitor Center.

A special thanks to Jennel for joining us on her first AOC hike. We look toward seeing her on many more hikes.
