With perfect temperatures for hiking, we did quick introductions and started the hike. Heading south until we reached the southern end of the park, we headed north following the eastern trails stopping at the Illinois Monument for a quick break and a group picture. We continued up to the Pigeon Hill Cutoff Trail turned left, another left and took another break at the Pigeon Hill Parking Lot. We returned to the parking lot this time following the western trails back.

We covered the 11.6 miles in 3 hours and 56 minutes for a pace of 2.95 mph.
