It was a terrific hike! Well-seasoned members who know better than to whine or complain as we kept a moderate pace, but tackled lots of hills. The bright sunshine warmed us up quickly so jackets were removed in short order from those of us who kept them on to ward off the chill in the air. It became a welcomed chill very quickly.

We covered the park from the dog beach to the bamboo forest and event ventured into an "uncharted" area which added another good ascent! The bamboo forest, by the way, is looking beautiful, with the bamboo now getting very green. Seeing all of that bamboo never gets old. I hope it remains forever!

We completed 5 miles in just over 2 hours, and clocked in over 700 feet of ascent. Not as challenging as all of the D5-D6 being posted, but for a group of our age range (Belinda, Michelle, and Jennifer excused), we think we did pretty well! ~ Joyce
