Write Up:
What a nice, crisp, and cool morning for a hike on KM.  We got underway just after 8 AM as planned and I thank everyone for getting there early so that could happen.  Coming down Big Kennesaw one of the members sprained their ankle which is pretty easy to do on the slick rocks covered with wet leaves.  I doubled back to see how bad it was, and it looked like a minor twist that perhaps could be walked off, but it took a little resting time first.  The rest of the group proceeded on to Burnt Hickory where they split between those that wanted a short hike today and those that wanted more.  Luckily for me, Scott Sanders was with that group and naturally took over as co-lead to help me out.  He doubled the length of the trip from 5 miles to 10 miles, and I'm sure that everyone enjoyed it because it was such a beautiful day.  In the end everyone got back to the visitors center and still had time to do more things today due to our early start and short amount of hiking time despite the mileage.  Strong group today as usual!  Let's do it again soon.
