We talked about how unfortunate it was that so many people feared hiking this morning because of the temperature (low 40's) and wind (15 mph) - - because the conditions were perfect for hiking! The wind wasn't at all a factor except for occasional spots when we were high on a ridge; but when we got those winds, we were grateful to be cooled off! Truly, it was a wonderful morning to be hiking!

We met a very friendly, interesting man from Nepal when we got to the bench at the upper parking lot. He introduced himself as JoeDavis, and though he's returning to Nepal in a couple of days, he'll be back in Atlanta, and will hopefully become an AOC member!
