We started with temperatures a little lower than expected in the high 40s. Following the trail in a counterclockwise direction we heated south inland of the Chattahoochee. At the end of the trails head we turned north and followed the river up to Buford Dam. On the way back we encountered a bridge that had fallen about three feet. I stopped checked it, determined it was safe to cross, and we proceeded (see picture). I checked the Park’s website when I got home and found no warnings or alerts. Crossing the bridge at the bottom of the dam we headed for the Laurel Trail only to the discover that the bridge going to Laurel Trail was closed (see picture), we turned around and took the road to Laurel Trail from there we headed in a clockwise direction until we came to the Lower Overlook, enjoyed the views, and returned to the parking lot by the way we came. By this point the temperature was in the high 60s and we had a sunny day.
