Tue, Jun 29 2021 - Vickery Creek (View Original Event Details)|
We had hikers doing their 200th and 300th events. Bette did her 300th event and James did his 200th event. Marianna provided popsicles and banana bars, Rocky brought candy, and I provided Mike style rocks. In addition to that Sue celebrated her 600 plus birthday. I don’t thing she looks a day over 400. She didn’t tell us her age, so I guessed.
We were about halfway through the hike when the rain started raining. It rained and then when we thought it was about to break it rained some more. According to radar it should have been a quick storm, it wasn’t. We cut the last mile off so that we could have the post event celebrations. I don’t think anyone was dry by the time we got back to the parking lot. I did find five dry spots on my vest? The good news was we never heard thunder or saw lighting. With that much rain that fast the trail had large puddles and became slick when going up and down. We were fortunate that on one slipped and fell.
