The bubble was with us today! It was raining locally before the hike, but as we stood in the Hewlett Pond parking lot, we looked up to see blue sky! We counted (hoped for) on a dry hike, and thankfully that's what we got.

It was certainly great seeing the Island Ford regulars after several rainy no-hike days. On the hike we saw loads of fresh mushrooms along the trails - - no surprise with all the recent rain.

Michelle was first up the warm-up hill, with David D. a close second. That hill certainly gets our heart-rates up fast and makes the rest of the hike very manageable.

After the hike, we were treated to some sweet goodies that Russ and Joyce S. brought . . . . leftovers from their weekend gathering. (The pastries were provided by David S., whom we all thank abundantly!) ~ Joyce
