Moving the event from 10 am to 12 pm in the hopes that the rain front would pass through was very fortuitous, because the rain continued right up until noon. It stopped just before we started our hike, and we had a dry hike for the entire two hours. The overnight rain was light, so the trails were in pretty good condition. Our shoes were free of mud when we finished the hike.
We really wanted this hike to stay active, because we were looking forward to seeing our good AOC friend, John Bordonali, who was visiting from North Carolina for several days. Sadly, our hike of 15 (plus a waiting list) dwindled to just 6 by this morning - - but we six were good friends who really enjoyed our intimate time together.
What a nice surprise we had when we got back to our cars. Four renegades made it a point to meet us there so they could say "hello" to John. John we very happy to see them!
Five of us (Michelle couldn't stay) had lunch after our hike at the NRT, where conversation flowed freely among us.
It turned out to be a really great event for John to be a part of. ~ Joyce
