After cold introductions in the Bowmans Island parking lot and a note that we would celebrate Michael’s 300^th hike at the end, we headed toward the Laurel Ridge Trail, we crossed the bridge below Buford Dam and started hiking on the Laurel Ridge Trail. We did enjoy watching the goats graze on the dam, see pictures. A quick stop at Lower Overlook Park to enjoy the views and back around toward the Chattahoochee River. We returned to the parking lot the way we came. From there we planned to follow the river down steam only to discover the trail was closed. Turning inland we hiked inland until it was time to return to the parking lot. Before everyone left we celebrated Michael’s 300^th hike with a Mike rock. By the end of the hike the temperature was as perfect hiking as one could ask.
