What a fantastic group of hikers today! It was wonderful to break away from the stress of everyday life, to ramble around the trails of Stone Mountain for a while. Let's extend a warm welcome to brand new member, Nancy, on her very first AOC event, and Eileen on her second. Laura is also fairly new to the club with this being her lucky thirteenth event. These new recruits were in good hands, with the remainder of the attendees all being seasoned Trip Leaders.
Everyone knocked off the summit handily and completed the Cherokee Trail with ease. We rewarded ourselves with a little bit of culture as we rested on the rocks and took turns reciting beautiful poetry. Some of us got a kick out of the date being 2/2/22, and we had a moment of awareness at 2:22pm. Hats off to an amazing team!
