Evidence of yesterday's rain was quite evident throughout many places in the park. Areas by the river were extremely muddy, and the dog beach was under water. The only signs of life at the beach were a rock slab with 5 cormorants on it and a pair of geese on the little island.

We left the mud behind as we ascended to the overlook deck and then on to the bamboo forest. Luckily the water on that trail wasn't bad, so mud wasn't a factor.

As promised, our pace was very moderate throughout the hike, with pauses to allow folks to make their way over obstacles and a couple of catch-up stops. It was really nice to be able to stop here and there to enjoy a hike up to the cave and a pause to look at the waterfall.
