What a way to start the New Year!  We had a good group of happy hikers and really nice weather for the first hike of the year on the first day of the year.

Alfred, Wyi, Goldie, Michele, Ray and Angela hiked along the trails at Island Ford admiring the clear blue skies and spotting patches of green moss along the way.  We laughed when others would walk by and say "good morning" as it was actually afternoon.  I guess they partied a bit too hard the night before.  Judging from the lack of wildlife, I guess they weren't the only ones.  Even the birds seemed to tweet sleepily here and there as they churned lazily in their nests.
