Write Up:

Waterfalls, creeks and excellent weather! Our band of elevent hikers enjoyed a fun hike which took us along Smith Creek in Unicoi State Park. Water flow levels were robust in the creeks, and we had some fun creek crossings. There was a challenging blowdown we negotiated 1 mile from the trailhead, and trail traffic was heavier than normal for the first two miles before thinning out. Anna Ruby Falls was in spectacular form. Temperatures rose into the high 70s later in the hike, making for a hot uphill stretch before we reached ridgeline and continued downhill for the trailhead. Total distance was 9.4 miles; elevation gain was ~2,200 feet.
