With lower temperatures and a nice breeze ten hikers set out to conquer the 13-mile East Cheaha loop. The few views we captured through the trees and at our lunch spot were stunning and well worth the trek through the overgrown Cave Creek and Nubbins trails. In total we hiked 12.4 miles with 1956 feet of elevation gain. Everyone agreed this trail is more suited for an early spring or late fall outing as to avoid the overgrowth and for better views.
