Meeting at the end of the Illinois Monument Parking Lot we talked about safety on the trails and the safe use of the tools. June being a traditionally low turnout month for volunteers, the park did not schedule a lot of work. Our primary project was to put temporary fencing up blocking the trail by the field so that a contractor could refurbish the trail going down by the field toward the bridge just inside the tree line. Over 120 pieces of fencing had be stagged the day before. Even with the number of volunteers we had this was accomplished in about an hour. We than proceeded to several deberming project on the East Knox Farm Trail and finished about half an hour early and trashed out a social trail causing erosion.
We completed everything on the workplan.
