Write Up:

Eight of AOC's most avid hikers showed up for the hike today knowing that it was most likely going to rain and not bothered by that fact.  That's great because I view AOC events as a time, a place, and a mission.  The weather isn't a factor unless it's severe.

We got lucky with the weather because during the hike it just barely misted and we just had drops from the wet tree limbs.  It was very cool and the wind was blowing pretty hard from the south, and the humidity was up there as well so everyone got wet from the inside anyway.

I'd guess we saw around 15 deer - more than I've seen there in quite a while.  It was foggy the entire trip which made everything look really cool.

Several of the speedsters were already on the way back from Burnt Hickory when I was crossing Pigeon Hill.  The ones that gathered at Burnt Hickory decided to do the extra mileage loop, so we did it but sort of did in reverse order just to mix things up a bit.

Soon we were cresting Pigeon Hill again and climbing steadily back over Little and Big Kennesaw and back at the visitor's center around 11:15 as planned.

Thanks to those that showed up today for a pretty unique hike.  It felt good to get back into the car and turn the heater on :-)
