We took it a bit slower today because of the heat and because I needed a little recovery after being out of town for almost two weeks! We even skipped the warm-up hill (but we warmed up quickly with the muggy heat).

We encountered an older gentleman at the upper parking lot who had set up his ham operating system and was communicating with fellow operators across the country. He was interesting to talk with, so we spent several minutes on an extended water break.

We passed the Renegades on the lollipop stem and enjoyed a chance to greet them. And we saw a buck and a doe in the woods, which is always exciting.

Tracy and Regina treated us to very special popsicles after the hike. What a nice way to end a hot event!
