The Boling Park/ Etowah Trail was new to most of our participants today. The trail is vast, but we tackled only a small area - the White Trail and the Green Loop, starting behind Cherokee High School. We hiked 6 miles in 2 hours, 15 minutes, keeping a healthy pace with several stops for water.

Shirley brought a sign she made to announce my 2400th AOC event. What a nice surprise! And Lee made some delicious cranberry/walnut cookies to share at lunchtime.

There are several impressive bridges on the trail, constructed by Boy Scout troops. They're very slippery when wet, but today, they were completely dry and not slick at all.

There are lots of roots and rocks on the trail, so poles or at least one pole are good to use.

Thanks to Lee for the excellent photos he took, which have been added to the album. ~ Joyce
