Write Up:

This was possibly our last really perfect hiking day for a while, with Hurricane Nicole approaching and then a cold front dropping our temperatures over the weekend. Not only was the weather perfect, but our hike was pretty near perfect as well, because we met a brand new AOC member (Holly) and we saw Bleau looking for a meal on the creek. He was on a rock as we began our hike, and he was perched on the same rock when we finished . . . right at the Covered Bridge.

We kept a steady pace (save for Russ's obligatory stops to take pictures of Bleau and our newbie at the Magic Tree and the Covered Bridge), getting in almost 5.5 miles in our two hours.

Heavy leaf covered makes hiking a bit tricky, especially on the hilly descents, but we all made it to the end without incident. Susan Ferguson's newly painted bright blue blazes (evidence of her volunteer work with the CRNRA) help mark the trails throughout the park.
