We beat the rain! We did have a little mist from time to time, the temperature was in the low 40’s when we started and mid 40’s at the end and a lot of wind. We did introductions at the end of the Overflow Parking Lot. We hiked to the picnic area where we started the Environmental Trail hiking it in a clockwise direction, then turned left on the 24 Gun Trail. We followed the 24 Gun Trail to Gilbert Road, turned around until we came to the Environmental Trail. From there we returned to the Visitor Center and the overflow parking lot. With only five all of whom could do D2 & D3 hikes we did speed up to beat the rain in case it came – it didn’t.
