Write Up:Raw and windy weather at Woody Gap caused us to question our plan, and some members
openly doubted the TL’s weather forecast of a cold but quiet and sunny lunch break atop
Blood Mountain. But the weather cleared and calmed as we ascended. A solitary raven
croaked overhead, and we enjoyed a sunny vista along with our sandwich. Under the winter
sun tree branches slowly yielded their coating of ice and gently dusted us with frosty white
flakes as we left the summit. Overall, an excellent day outdoors.
