What an unusual hike! We had 5 new faces to add to our group of friends: Welcome to the AOC, Dee, Janet (with Avi), Wayne, Jim (with Chica), and Mark! What a pleasure to meet you add you to our group of very friendly Monday morning hikers. And it was so nice to meet Chica and Avi - - two very well behaved trail dogs.

We started our hike with the loop up the hill on the trail off the parking lot and then walked the loop around Powers Island, where a couple of the ladies ventured into the hollow tree for a picture.

After a short bathroom break, we crossed the bridge over the Chattahoochee and hiked a big loop around Cochran Shoals Interstate North before returning to our cars. It was a very enjoyable hike with a few challenging hills and a lot of easy, flat areas. And everyone, newbies and regulars, did great. A lot of smiles at the end! ~ Joyce
