It was a beautifully clear, cold, classic winter morning. After introductions - where I established that I am indeed not Joyce T. (I may need to change my name), we were able to get moving and get warm. We hiked just over 6.5 miles at a 3.1 mph pace with the happy sounds of birds singing, squirrels (and people) chattering, the occaisional tapping of woodpeckers with a finale of tennis balls thumping (hiking behind the tennis courts). A lovely winter morning hike.
