With perfect temperatures for hiking, we did quick introductions and started the hike. We covered the 11.8 Miles in 4 hours and 26 minutes for a pace of 2.66 mph. We stopped by the new restrooms at the Illinois Monument for a break than continued toward Whitlock Road. I forgot that the New Salem Church Trail was closed at Burnt Hickory, thus we backtracked, and headed toward the Pigeon Hill Parking Lot, took a break and headed back.

I would like to thank John for joining us on his fifth event, and the rest of the group for making them feel welcome.
