Write Up:

It was lots of fun to do a moderately paced hike this morning. The air was humid from last night's rain, and the trails were littered with debris from the trees. The park could use some volunteers to just clear the trails of all the fallen branches.

Everyone arrived on time (early, in fact), so we were able to start our hike by 10 am. We hiked to the Visitor Center from the upper lot and upon returning, hiked for a half an hour on the lollipop trail.

One woman who was walking her German Shepherd said that a coyote tried to attack her dog. She was terrified! That's a good reason to keep your dog on a leash when hiking in our local parks. Coyotes do live there.

Lee took a photo with me in it so I could get represented in the album! (Thanks, Lee.) ~ Joyce
