No need to talk about the weather . . . heat and humidity as usual. Safe to say our clothes were drenched by the time we completed our hike. We did the warm-up hill as usual (gotta keep this group in shape!), but only once. If you think it's cruel and unusual punishment to impose that climb on the group at the beginning of a hike, four of the folks took off in a run and speeded their way up the hill like nobody's business. J. Mike C. (with his heavy backpack) and I brought up the rear. Congratulations to Mahsheed for a fine performance, as well as Gary, David V., and Frances. I can't wait for Mahsheed and David W. to both be on a Thursday morning hike; David has never failed to be first, but Mahsheed can run with the best of them. That will be a warm-up for the books.

The Renegades were in full force today, with two ladies on the hike - - Regina and Larry's daughter. They had a big group on the trail today.

It was great to be back with my Thursday group after my trip up to DC. Nice that Susan F. took good care of the group for me last Thursday. ~. Joyce
