What a super-nice group we had for our weekly hike at Island Ford this morning. The weather gods gave us a tiny break by keeping the temperature below 90 and sending us an occasional breeze to cool us down.

Susan was first up the warm-up hill, with no competition. Most folks were just content to get to the top/1

It was great to see the Renegades as they gathered in the Visitor Center lot for their hike. Only four of them today: Dan R., Dan C., Phil, and Mikey. We saw them again as they hiked the stem of the lollipop trail. All of the Renegades are AOC members except for Phil, a new recruit. I'm going to work on him to register for the club so he can join us on an occasional official hike.

It's nice to see that Steve F.'s knee is doing great after his knee-replacement surgery. He has no problem keeping up with the group!

Four of us went to Samad's for lunch after the hike - - always an enjoyable way to end a good hike.
