Today was special - - Rocky's 400th AOC event! Rocky actually allowed pictures to be taken of her today!

I knew this park was full of Joro spiders (I scouted it out recently), so I thought that it would be fun to have a Joro spider-spotting contest: the first to spot spiders along the way would win. Within 10 minutes, Ann had enthusiastically spotted the most spiders . . . almost 10 . . . ao I stopped rhe contest and declared Ann. the winner. She was awarded a special spider rock as her prize for winning.

We welcomed Maria into the AOC today. She enjoyed the leisurely hike and the tailgate party afterward, both of which allowed her to talk with others on the hike. Maria showed me the scar from her broken wrist surgery long ago. Nice to see that she is fully recovered.

Joro spiders are hard to photograph because they dangle in mid-air, making focusing difficult . . . but Lee and Ann were able to get some great shots. (Their pictures are included in the album.)
