We had a fine group this morning at what turned out to be a beautiful morning at Island Ford! The hike was rather special, in that we had three brand new AOC members - - Chitra, Diane S., and Farah! (Welcome to the AOC, ladies!). All of them were in great shape and well able to keep up with the veterans.. Victor kept to his itinerary, finishing the hike in 6 miles!

Linda brought her two very well-behaved dogs, Vixen and Maggie. They were adorable, and were fine trail dogs.

Anu surprised the group with some Indian candy in celebration of Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. It was delicious, and it energized us for the second half of our hike!

A wonderful combination of old and new friends this morning! ~ Joyce
