Five hardy hikers backpacked 33 miles on the Foothills Trail between Whitewater Falls and Laurel Valley trailheads.  Camping at Bear Gap and Dawkins Creek campsites we enjoyed freezing temps, sore knees, eager dogs, long nights in the tent, about 50 bridges and 1000 stairs.  All-in-all a great winter backpacking adventure.
