We had 6 hardy hikers that showed up today for what was shaping up to be a cold, wet and windy day at Bowmans Island. We started out cold, but were pretty well warmed up by the time we reached the top of the first hill.  By the half way point, we were looking up at a blue, sun filled sky that made us realize we had made the right decision after all.

We covered 6.3 miles in 2 1/2 hours which was a comfortable pace that kept us warm.  Our route took us through almost equal distances in the hills and along the river. We hiked on almost all the trails in Bowmans Island. There were some muddy patches, but thankfully, no one took a tumble.

I want to thank everyone who braved the elements today in order to make this a really fun hike.
