It was an intimate group of just five today, likely because of the predicted 15+ mph winds and wet trails from the recent rain. Although the creek water was about as high and strong as any of us had seen it, the trails were surprisingly dry. The 40 mph winds last night likely helped a lot to dry the trails. We did encounter some water and mud, but not much. Our feet stayed dry.
Although we couldn't find Bleau by the water, we did see him do a fly-by down the creek. Try as we might, we never saw him land and never caught sight of him again.
The weather was great for our hike - - chilly but refreshing. The bright sunlight and breeze were much appreciated! ~ Joyce
