We had a great group of 10 on our hike at Island Ford this morning.  It started out chilly, but layers were coming off by the time we finished the Lollipop Trail.  We maintained a good moderate speed of about 2.6 mph for 6 miles. We had good views of the river and there was a blue heron sighting. There was a lot of conversation, so no one was really winded.  A special AOC welcome to Debra, who was on her first hike with the club, and to Jules, who was on her second hike.  Both fit in well with the group and will be welcome members of any hike.  Thank you Joyce for the attached photos and for the nice writeup.
