Yes this was the event that broke the record for longest waitlist in AOC history (peaked at 87) and turned out to be lots of fun as expected.  The weather gods were not squarely in our camp today but we managed to work around that and still get in a full day of fun.

But we drove up to Clayton under mostly cloudy skies....hit the trail to some sunlight and hiked the 3 miles to Singley's Falls on Overflow Creek.  Skies still looked good and we played and swam for about 45 min.  But as soon as we hit the trail headed for Three Forks proper, the skies opened up and we got rained on pretty hard.  There was some distant thunder, so we decided to play it safe and head back to the trailhead.  We had already seen what lightning had recently done to some trees in the area (see pics).

However, we had a plan B and that was to head downstream a few miles on the Chattooga to the infamous Bull Sluice Class IV rapid.  This area is near the road and a great place to swim and hang out.  We ended up spending a couple of hours there...jumping off rocks into the rushing waters...love this spot and going to return on another AOC event very soon.

So it ended up being a full day with a great group and we hope to get back to Three Forks again before the summer is over.
