What a great event! Since this is a biking trail, signs direct hikers to go in one direction and bikers in the other. Little signs mark every tenth of a mile throughout the park, covering both the outer loop and inner loop. I took the wrong direction on a trail, so we went further on the outer loop than planned, but it didn't really matter. We hiked 6 miles and felt that we had seen most of the park.

The weather warmed up nicely, so that most jackets were removed during the hike. It was so nice that everyone brought their lunch, so that we stayed an extra hour at a picnic table overlooking Lake Lanier.

Though Charleston Park is a biking trail, we saw just one biker on the trail this morning. We had the park to ourselves!
